My paternal grandmother was named Essie and her maiden name was Yopp. She was born in Dudley, Laurens, County, Georgia, in July, 1893; lived in Macon, Georgia until her death in 1979. Interestingly enough, she had an older brother named William Yopp who was born in 1883...Ever since first reading about Ten Cent Bill about two years ago, there appears to be a lot of similarities between my family and Ten Cent Bill that I am now believing is more than just coincidental. Like Ms. Hampton, I too would like to know whether he is an ancestor. Any help, suggestions, etc. would be very greatly appreciated!

Cynthia Logueclyndyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08011792750784329217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8417610874627751100.post-54982200637552436802014-03-16T13:05:24.625-07:002014-03-16T13:05:24.625-07:00my Mother was born in Dublin Ga. in 1920. Her maiden name was Wright.
In the telling of our Family History; she always mentioned two things: my Great Great Grandfather, who was an enslaved runner in the civil war. And the Yopp "grandfather" who sent some of his children, by his enslaved concubine wife, off into the Caucasion world. I wanted to know if Ten Cent Bill could be that ancestor? How should I proceed to find out?Verna Hamptonnoreply@blogger.com
